About RFT

Keeping People Safe Since 1987.

RFT has used radio frequency since 1987 to help keep patients and residents safe in healthcare, senior living and educational environments. Founder Glen Jonas saw a need to help prevent Alzheimer’s and Dementia residents from wandering away from their caretakers, and our first product CODE ALERT® was born.

Jonas says, “Product ideas came mainly from our customers. For example, in June 1989, I received a call from a hospital asking if our CODE ALERT® system could be adapted to protect babies while they were away from the nursery and this is the origin of SAFE PLACE®.”

As a technology company, we are keenly aware that product support is extremely critical to keeping our customers happy. Today we have over 10,000 systems installed in the marketplace, and a major reason for our success is our ability to get our products installed and properly maintained for our customers.
